Welcome to Sarah's Family Group!
I am so excited to grow and learn with your children this school year! I grew up and attended school within the Anchorage School District. My husband, Jeremy, and I have been married for six years and live in Anchorage with our dog, Boris, and our son Landon. In our spare time we enjoy camping, hiking, traveling (especially to Disney), and watching movies.
I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education in 2013 and I received my Masters in Reading Education in 2017 from East Carolina University. I student taught in Sharon's Family Group and was offered her position shortly after when she moved states. I am grateful everyday to be surrounded by such an amazing community.
My philosophy of education is that all children can be inspired to become life-long learners through student-centered lessons and activities. My role as a teacher is to guide and support students in their inquiries and discoveries, and to help them become independent thinkers and learners. I believe in the power of play, art, music, social learning, and hands-on activities.
Have questions or concerns? Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or call the school at 907-742-8700.
I am also available by appointment from 7:30-8:00 a.m. Mon/Wed/Fri or after school until 4:00 p.m.
